Are there any games using AI?
There are now multiple kinds of AI-generated games emerging. Some are made using tools like ChatGPT to recreate classics like Pong, Tetris, or Snake. Others take the form of AI text adventures, where the world and story are described entirely through text, and players interact by typing commands — a nostalgic yet innovative twist on interactive fiction.
Then there are the more sophisticated examples where AI enhances just one part of the game. Take Microsoft Flight Simulator, for example — it uses generative AI to create a detailed and massive recreation of Earth. Games like Origins, our own interactive AI-powered mystery experience, also fall into this category, featuring dynamic NPCs that players on YouTube and Twitch have enjoyed exploring and challenging.
Players are drawn to AI games because of the unique, unpredictable, and highly interactive experiences they offer. AI-driven NPCs behave in more human-like ways, adding realism and immersion that static dialogue trees simply can’t match. And let’s be honest — part of the fun for many gamers is testing the limits and “trolling” AI characters just to see what happens.
To spotlight this growing space, we’ve recently launched our Early Access to AI Games program — a curated and expanding library of games, demos, and mods featuring dynamic AI NPCs you can actually talk to. (Sign up to get early access!) In this evolving landscape, we’re excited to showcase the best AI games available today, offer a peek at the future of AI in gaming, and share some incredible titles you won’t want to miss.
